Diane Fenn, who was a valued club helper from 1990 to 2004 and was one of the nicest people I have ever met, has died at the age of 83. Obviously most of our club members will have lasting and loving memories of Diana at Tanglewood, but there will be many others who will remember her as an assistant teacher at Whittlesea School for many years. In fact there can't be many adults with a learning disability in Harrow who haven't come across Diana at sometime during their lives.
She stopped being a Tanglewood helper in 2004 when she moved to the Medway area of Kent where her daughter Samantha was living with her two children. Sadly around ten years ago Diana suffered a stroke. Although she recovered very well she eventually moved into a lovely care home near Canterbury. I was pleased to be able to visit her, with Karen & Paul around 6 years ago – a photo below shows the three of us and Samantha.
She was such a wonderful woman – me, Karen & Paul will miss her dearly. On behalf of everyone at Tanglewood I offer my sincere condolences to Samantha, her two sons Stephen and George, Diana's son Graham and other members of the family.
A funeral mass, a committal and a Wake is taking place on Tuesday 16th June in Canterbury. The full details are as follows:-
