Apart from transporting club members to and from club every week, the reason I bought the club two mini buses was to enable us to provide our club members with regular trips for small groups.  On Saturday was one of those outings.  There were 12 of us = Two club helpers, Carol and Anita, 9 club members = Karen, Paul, Scott, Usha, Prafulla, Mayur, Kevin, Adam and Syed, plus our driver Daniel.

I am pleased to report they all had a fabulous day – four hour trip along the Grand Union canal which included going through locks, which some of our club members got involved in opening and closing the lock gates.  Even the weather was kind to us.  There are some photo's below and in the November/December Christmas Magazine which is being published on Monday (17th).

I am not taking any credit for the success of the day, it was Carol who came up with the idea and booked the trips.  There is a plural “trips” because wee have another trip on the same boat coming up on December 6th.  This will be a special Christmas trip which sounds great.  a different set on 9 club members will be invited on this trip.

The boat was excellent and included ample seating area, a galley for making tea/coffee and not one but two toilets with one of them fitted out for disabled passengers – all very impressive.  On top of all that everyone was treated to a Fish and chip lunch which was delivered to the boat.

The whole thing was completely free of charge with Tanglewood picking up the bill.
