It's been five years since we last held the computer bowling game competition because of Covid, so we were pleased to get this years competition under way earlier in the year. A total of 22 club members took part and under the supervision of the Tournament organiser Jane, by Nov. 18th we were down to the last four – Paul Havard, Simon Parsons, Syed Amin & Kevin Sweeney. With a score of 202 Kevin went straight into the final. Meanwhile Paul and Syed had tied on 192 so they had to take part in a single game play-off which was won by Paul.
Paul was appearing in his 6th bowling final, whilst Kevin was playing in his 2nd. In a best-of-three final, Paul won 2-0 and so took the title for the fourth time. Kevin last his second final, and to the same opponent.
Our special guest for the evening was Maureen Davis – The Shield presented to the winner is named the “Christopher Davis Memorial Shield” in memory of Maureen's son who was a Tanglewood club member and loved this game, sadly he passed away in 2011. Maureen is pictured below presenting the two finalists with their trophies.
