We all had a great night on August 12th – we had hired a Take That tribute band. It wasn't only club members who had a great night, we had sold tickets through selected sources and a total of 73 people attended. What didn't exactly help was the day of the event turned out to be the hottest day of the year – mid 30's during the day and high 20's during the evening but we had a few fans blowing and it was such a great night the we forgot about the heat.
As I had indicated, in my advertisements, the band were absolutely brilliant and interacted with our club members which was really great to see. We did make a considerable loss on the night as a result of not selling enough tickets but with the benefit of hindsight it was a good thing, if the attendance had been around a hundred the heat would have been unbearable.
