Last Monday, June 10th, we held the 2024 Helpers Darts Final. Because of the pandemic, It was the first helpers final since 2019. The final was between Alan H. and Jane. It was a best-of-five leg final but despite a gallant effort by Jane, particularly in the third leg, it was Alan who came away as the champion winning 3 – 0.
I was devastated – I was the defending champion, albeit 5 years ago, and I have appeared in 15 of the past 16 finals, winning 13 of them! this year I was beaten if the first round! I think I must be getting too old for the oche! I can't take the pressure!
