Sadly club member Sandra Burst passed away last Sunday. Sandra, who was 82 years old, joined Tanglewood on 29th October 1990 and attended 1,269 club nights – 89% attendnace. She was very popular and when we set up the arts and crafts table, a few years ago, she was one of the first to show an interest in taking part.
Sandra had developed a urinary infection which was not responding to antibiotics and was admitted to Northwick Park Hospital two weeks ago. Unfortunately she developed Sepsis and she died in the early hours of Sunday morning. her sister Michelle had travelled up from Somerset to be with her and also the staff at 65, Charlton Road, where Sandra had lived since 1998, were constantly at her side during the stay in hospital and were also there to comfort Sandra as she slipped away.
