Our re-scheduled outing to Woburn Animal Safari went ahead on Saturday 26th. Originally it was booked for the 19th but I changed it because of the potential bad weather. I am relieved to say my decision was vindicated – the weather was just right for a club outing i.e. dry but not too hot. We used one of our own minibuses but due to lack of a driver I had to hire the second vehicle. The photo shows the group alongside our minibus. We enjoyed the day very much. However, it was very expensive – over £20 per head for club members so, just to get in cost the club just over £571 and overall the cost of the outing, which was completely free to club members, came to £1,146.75. The animals were Ok – there was only one Tiger but a good pride of Lion's and when we stopped to have our lunch, the Giraffe's were eater theirs too. There were a good selection of ther animals, some of which are shown below.
This was the second outing this year and the 63rd outing organised by Tanglewood overall. We have another two outings planned for later in the year so look out for that on this website and in our magazine.
