Our “Strictly Tanglewood Dancing” event, held on February 17th,was great fun. A total of 7 couples took part and they all performed in front of four judges but there was also a, Audience vote. This was the 10th time we have held this fun competition and this year's theme was “Valentines day”.
The event was won by Debbie Brice & Paul Havard who achieved a maximum score of 40 from the judges – This is the fourth time that Debbie and Paul have won the title but this was the first time they had danced together. Debbie won the very first “Strictly” in 2010, then again in 2018 and 2023. Paul won it in 2011,2012 and 2014 but was also runner up in 2013 & 2023.
We had a tie for second place between Tanvi Parmar and Mohomed Abdulla & Natalie Killestein and Syed Amin. The judges were asked to pick a winner from those two couples but again they couldn't be separated, it was down to head judge John to make the call and he awarded the runners-up position to Tanvi & Mohomed. The pictures show the judges giving the winning couple their 40 points and Debbie & Paul are holding their “Chirag Kunverji” trophies. Congratulations to them and all 14 participants and a special thanks to the four judges Suzanne, David, Beccy and John and last but by no means least Jackie and Jane who organised the event and did the choreography.
