For the very first time in Tanglewood’s illustrious 60-year history we have out very own mini bus – not one, but two. We have never owned our own vehicles before mainly because we couldn’t afford them and anyway we would only use them once a week.
However all this changed for two reasons – Firstly Tanglewood has received an anonymous donation which at £100,000.00 is by a country mile the largest donation we have ever received. In fact it is more money than all the donations we have ever received since 1973 put together!! Secondly, we have come to an arrangement with Harrow Community Transport that they will look after the vehicles, tax, insure and maintain them, but they can also use them every day Monday to Friday during the day. We of course will use them free of charge every Monday evening and for outings in the summer.
The vehicles themselves will still belong to Tanglewood and will have our name and logo’s on them. It is all very exciting and of course it does mean that we will not have to charge anything for our club members to use them. They do get transport free now but that might have changed if money had become a problem that potential problem has been illuminated.
The vehicles will start picking up the usual club members this coming Monday (February 10th). In the meantime check out the pictures below.
