Hi everyone I hope you all took the chance to witness this weeks partial eclipse. I’ve included a couple of my feeble attempt at taking photographs of it. I gave away 12 special eclipse glasses to club members on the Monday which I hope were put to good use. on Wednesday.
Although it was the first eclipse anywhere on mainland Europe since 1999, we only managed a 90% coverage here in London. However, nowhere was the totality longer than 2 minutes – It was just a precursor to the eclipse that is taking place next year, mainly in northern Africa that totality will last over 6 minutes, which is extremely rare and won’t happen again this century.
