Hi everyone, In case you hadn't noticed Christmas is almost upon us!! Our Christmas party was great fun which lots of free food and drink. Every club member got a personalised 2026 calendar which I put together – well, it's something to do !! – Hope you like it and that it comes in useful.
I have to tell you that when the December 100 club draw was made, which Vicky Hansen picked the numbers. the first number out was one of the three un-allocated numbers – that was lucky for me because the next number out was one of mine!! The numbers that are available at the moment are 2, 9 & 47 One of them, I wont tell you which one, would have won £250 just a week before Christmas. If you want one of those numbers please let me know, The full draw can be found by clicking on the 100 club above.
Now, have you had a go at the quizzes that I published in our Christmas magazine?? Probably not. Come on have a go – a lot of effort goes into producing these quizzes.
The Chess board question is particularly interesting. The question is – If you place a ten-pence piece on square No. 1 on a chess board, then place 2 coins on square No.2 and 4 on square No. 3. In other words on each square you put double the number of coins that was on the previous square, and so on, until you reach square No. 64. The question is how many coins will be stacked on that final square? Not in value, just how many? To give you a start and a clue – by the end of the first line of 8 you will have 128 coins by the time you get half way through the board there will be roughly 2.5 billion coins n- keep going, there are another 32 squares to go!!
I will put all the answer's to all the quizzes on this web site over Christmas.
Have a great time, one and all, and keep checking this web site over the festive period. Hope you like the festive photo's below.
