After the celebrations of Saturday, two days later we were celebrating again – this time for club members only. Lots of food, drinks and entertainment and it was all free of charge. The Mayor of Harrow joined us – Cllr Anjana Patel. I have to say, she was absolutely charming and a lovely person. She wasn't at all fazed by the goings on at a Tanglewood party night – she loved every minute of it.
Entertainment was by our dear friend Suze – she really is a wonderful person – a great singer and she adores all our club members and interacts with them. Every club member was given a bag, mug, fan, note book, drinks bottle and pen, all inscribed with the Tanglewood Diamond Jubilee Logo.
The whole Diamond Jubilee celoebration weekend cost over £7,000 but it was worth every penny – how many social clubs like ours have celebrated their Diamond Jubilee? not many, if any. I am so proud of my team of volunteers.
